Guild Wars 2 - Icebrood Saga [2019]

I had the great pleasure of Art Directing the new Guild Wars 2 trailer!

This was a huge collaborative effort. Director Carlos Stevens and I wanted to push for something which would stand apart from the other GW2 cinematics, while retaining that painterly, artistic approach.

As well as figuring out most of the shots and creating the colour script, I worked alongside the brilliant Damien Bajowski and Juan Pablo Roldan to bring them to life (turning the loose concepts into mattes and painting over animation frames). Honestly, they were bloody fantastic and I can't recommend them enough.

Huge love also to producer, Rhiannon Murphy, who somehow kept this thing on track, Fernando, Drew, Athena, Ekaterina, Tristan, Victor, Dalvir, Lucile, Chris, Krissy, Scott, Jonathan, Hudson, Alan, Joseph, Sergio, Scott, Spike, Sjors, Craig, Louise, Simon and everyone else who helped make this a reality <3

Destiny 2 - Forsaken Epilogue [2018]

I worked as Art Director on the Forsaken/Black Armory epilogue cinematic! Always a great time working with Sava. As well as the usual AD duties, I did the concept art, colour scripts and matte paintings for this one. As usual, just stills for this client.

Destiny 2 - Prison Fall [2018]

The third Destiny cinematic I worked on as Art Director! As always this is a massive team effort; as well as directing the overall look of the cinematic, I worked with the concept artists to help design the props and environment. Pretty much everything here was designed by Axis and it was a huge job. Can't show any designs, but here are some stills from the film. 


Big love to director Stu Aitken, CG Sup Mikas Sadas and every artist who helped bring this to life. Also to Bungie who are always lovely to work with.

Destiny 2 - Warmind [2018]

Super proud of this one, it was my first full project at Axis and the team did an incredible job and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. 

I did all the concept work, colour scripts, defined the mood and feel etc, as well as designs for the Ice Thralls, stuff on Ana, some matte tweaking... Lots of bits and bobs. 

It was my first time working with my good friend Sava Zivkovic and just a total blast - easily one of the most talented Directors I've met and he nailed this project on every level.

Destiny 2 - Curse of Osiris [2017]

I was honoured to be the Art Director on this Destiny 2 cinematic. 
It was my first project at Axis Animation and I came in midway through production which was an incredible learning experience. As a Destiny fan, just getting to touch the franchise was exciting.

Al Salam Palace - Iso Design (2017)

Back in 2017 I illustrated a huge project for the restored Al Salam Palace in Kuwait, working with ISO Design. In total I painted hundreds of frames, split onto layers, which were animated by the team.

The project won a Scottish Design Award in the Experiential Design category.

Murderous Pursuits (2016)

I was Lead Concept Artist on Murderous Pursuits, in charge of creating the art direction for the game. This included all concepts for the game, branding and overseeing the UI design.

Huge props to the team, in particular my amazing art team: Nick Sawyer who sculpted the characters (and truly took the style to the next level), Mark Holmes for bringing them to life, Sean Mcilroy for crafting a truly beautiful UI and putting up with my endless nitpicking and Sim Furniss for his great oversight and endless technical knowhow.

The Ship: Remasted (2016)

Portraits painted for the game The Ship: Remasted. For this remaster I mostly worked in-engine as a lighting artist since there weren’t many concepts required :) I painted portraits of the Blazing Griffin team to replace the old art assets, riffing on time-appropriate master paintings.
